o Instituto para a Economia e a Paz (Institute for Economics and Peace), em cooperação com a Economist Intelligence Unit, publicou mais uma vez o seu relatório sobre a paz em 144 países. Os países foram julgados por 23 indicadores, como as exportações de armas, o número de pessoas presas, guerras ou grau de democracia. Foi criado com base nos critérios da Global Peace Index. O índice fornece dados mensuráveis que possam ser importantes para empresários, bem como para governos dos países. Portugal que em 2008 foi apresentado em 7º lugar, baixou em 2009 para o 14º. Segundo o novo Índice Global da Paz de 2009, a Islândia já não é o país mais pacífico sobre a terra. Entre os dez países mais seguros do mundo, apenas três não são europeus - Nova Zelândia (1º), o Japão (6 º) e o Canadá (7 º). Dos países do Norte da Europa , a Dinamarca e a Noruega são os dois países mais seguros e a Islândia é quarto. A Áustria é o quinto e a Suécia aparece como sexto. A nona posição vai para a Finlândia, bem como à Eslovénia. Os dez países menos seguros são o Zimbábue, Rússia, Paquistão, Chade, República Democrática do Congo, Sudão, Israel, Somália, Afeganistão e o Iraque no último lugar a 144a posição. First of all we would like to sincerely thank you for previously including the GPI in your blog in the past.
As you'll be aware, the GPI is a ground-breaking piece of research in the study of peace, which not only ranks nations by their peacefulness but also seeks to identify the drivers of peace. Now in its fourth year, the Index is produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace, a global think tank dedicated to the research and education of the relationship between economic development, business and peace. It is collated and calculated by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
